Maple tends to be a brighter wood but with it's deeper body of 6. 5" the drum has more body and resonance without losing the crack snap of Maple. This Gretsch Silver Series Maple Snare is in very good condition. The hardware shows some light pitting and scratches. It includes fresh Gibraltar snare wires.

Nice piece but not for BMW motorcycles
Solid filter wrench. My bad for not checking the fit. Way too big for BMW filter 11 00 1 341 616 on my motorcycle. Turns out I had one that fits anyway. How dumb was that? I didn't get to try it on anything but four stars for appearing to be a good solid tool.
